1. About SHAMBALLA JEWELS
What does the name "SHAMBALLA" mean?
In Sanskrit, "Shamballa" translates to
"a place of peace and tranquility." Drawing on the spiritual power of
symbols and prayer beads used since the dawn of time, our jewelry invites you
to find your own inner Shamballa, your own wellspring of compassion and wisdom.
Is SHAMBALLA JEWELS a men's brand, a
women's brand, or both?
Shamballa Jewels is unisex by design. We use the same 18K gold, natural diamonds and precious gemstones across every piece, the distinction lives in the string color and the personal story each wearer brings to it.
Where can I see or try Shamballa Jewels in person?
You are always welcome at our flagship store at Ny Østergade 7, Copenhagen. We also have trusted retail partners around the world, visit the retailer locator on our website to find the one nearest you.
How do I know if my SHAMBALLA JEWELS piece is authentic?
Every Shamballa Jewels bracelet carries a lock number and an SJ engraving inside the lock, a quiet mark of origin that connects your piece to our Copenhagen atelier. If you are ever in doubt, our team is happy to verify authenticity for you.
2. The Shamballa Bracelet: Materials, Craftsmanship & Components
What is macramé braiding?
Macramé is an ancient textile craft, over a thousand years old, believed to have originated in medieval Arabic culture. Rather than weaving or knitting, artisans create intricate patterns by tying knots by hand.
How long does it take to hand-braid a SHAMBALLA JEWELS bracelet?
This varies with each design. Our braided bracelets require more time and attention, while non-braided styles and Orb bracelets move through the atelier a little faster. Each one is finished only when the craftsmanship meets our standard.
What gold karat does SHAMBALLA JEWELS use, and what colors are available?
We work exclusively in 18K gold, available in yellow, rose, white, and black rhodium-plated finishes.
Are the diamonds and gemstones natural, and how are they sourced?
All diamonds used by SHAMBALLA JEWELS are natural, conflict-free and have a Kimberley Process Certificate. The diamonds set in our gold beads, locks and solid pieces are G/VS quality, selected for their clarity and quiet brilliance.
What is the difference between a "beaded" bracelet and a "lock" bracelet?
Beaded bracelets feature round beads, available in ten,
eight and six millimeters, with four-millimeter beads reserved for full-gold
designs. Lock bracelets have a flat, squared profile and come in ten and six
millimeters.
Is the jewelry safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, it is - our jewelry is hypoallergenic. We use solid 18K gold, ceramic, natural gemstones
and durable nylon string, all materials that are naturally gentle on the skin
and free from low-grade base metals.
3. The Creator, Designing Your Own Bracelet
What can I customize in the Creator?
The Creator lets you design a SHAMBALLA JEWELS bracelet from scratch. You begin with a template and then shape it to your own vision, choosing the gold type, gemstones, string color and bead combination. It is the starting point for making something that is entirely yours.
Is there a price difference between Creator designs and ready-made collection pieces?
The price depends on the components you choose. In our
Copenhagen flagship store, you will also find a wider selection of rare and
special diamonds that are not available online, so visiting in person can open
up possibilities the screen cannot show.
4. Bespoke & Made-to-Order Services
What is the difference between the Creator and a fully bespoke commission?
Every SHAMBALLA JEWELS bracelet is custom-made. The Creator guides you through the design process on our website, while a fully bespoke commission is a more open conversation, typically in person or by consultation.
Is there a minimum order value or requirement for bespoke pieces?
Every bracelet should include at least one gold
component and a gold certificate lock. Beyond that, the design is yours to
shape.
Do you offer engraving or personalization?
Yes. We offer engraving, initials, dates, coordinates, whatever holds meaning for you. Our existing alphabet collection is available at a set price, while fully custom engravings carry an additional cost.
Can I have a virtual or in-store consultation with a designer?
Absolutely. Whether you visit us at Ny Østergade 7 in Copenhagen or connect with us virtually, our team is here to guide you through the process and help bring your vision to life.
5. Re-braiding,Repairs & Aftercare
What is re-braiding, and why would I need it?
Re-braiding means replacing the string that holds your beads. Over time, with wear and tear, the string may lose its color or begin to show its age. It is a natural part of the bracelet's journey, and an opportunity to refresh its look.
Where can I get my Shamballa Jewels bracelet re-braided?
At our flagship store in Copenhagen or through any of our authorized retail partners worldwide.
How much does re-braiding cost, and is it ever free?
Re-braiding is 625 DKK for a bracelet, 250 DKK for an
Orb Bracelet, and 1,000 DKK for a necklace.
Can I mail in my bracelet for re-braiding if I don't live near a boutique?
Yes. Please reach out to our customer service team or your nearest retailer to arrange a mail-in re-braiding. We will take care of the rest.
How should I clean and store my SHAMBALLA JEWELS pieces at home?
Lukewarm water, a touch of liquid soap, and a gentle hand, that is all your piece needs. Clean it softly, let it dry naturally, and store it somewhere it will not be scratched or tangled. Visit our Care & Maintenance page for more information.
Can I wear my Shamballa bracelet while showering, swimming, or exercising?
In most cases, yes. However, we recommend keeping beads like ebony away from water, and taking extra care during exercise if your bracelet includes pearls, they are beautiful but delicate.
Is there a warranty or guarantee on craftsmanship and materials?
We stand behind our craftsmanship. SHAMBALLA JEWELS offers a standard warranty, and if something wears unexpectedly, our team will do everything possible to set it right as quickly as possible.
6. Sizing & Fit
How do I measure my wrist for a bracelet?
To find your perfect fit, please measure your wrist with a measuring tape, positioning it just below the small bump/bone. Once you have your measurement, refer to the guideline chart on the website. Alternatively, you can visit the flagship store in Copenhagen or visit our nearest retailer.
What if my bracelet arrives too big or too small?
We will send you a return label, resize the bracelet,
and send it back, free of charge. If you purchase it in store, simply bring it
back and we will adjust it for you as fast as possible.
Is resizing free, and how long does it take?
If your bracelet arrives in the wrong size and you reach out right away, resizing is complimentary. Any later changes to the string are priced extra. The timeframe depends on whether we handle it in store or by mail, but our aim is to have it back on your wrist as quickly as possible.
7. Necklaces & Rings
Can necklaces be customized?
Yes, necklaces can be fully customized with the same
range of gold, gemstones and string options. This is done through our store team
rather than the online Creator, so please reach out to us directly to begin the
process.
Can rings be resized after purchase?
In some cases, yes. It depends on the design and the extent of the resizing needed.
Does SHAMBALLA JEWELS offer engagement or wedding-appropriate pieces?
We carry a wide selection of rings, many of which lend themselves beautifully to marking a moment like an engagement or wedding. With our engraving service, you can add initials, a date, or any detail that holds meaning, making the piece uniquely yours.
